Youth Orchestra of the Americas
In 2002, the Fundación Custer was invited to represent the Youth Orchestra of the Americas (YOA) in Peru.
The YOA's mission is to pursue musical excellence, develop young leaders with cross cultural understanding and inspire a spirit of hemispheric unity that will produce greatness in the people, communities and governments of the Americas.
Selection
The YOA is world-class symphony orchestra of 110 gifted young musicians from twenty countries of the Western Hemisphere.
Each year a group of the finest musicians, ages 18-26, is selected through highly competitive auditions. This year, more than 330 candidates competed for a place in the orchestra.
